On February 6th, 2017 we had our first event of the semester, Spread the Love! About 40 people came to the WRAC to enjoy a hot chocolate bar and write Valentines to their representatives. Participants wrote about banning conversion therapy in Iowa, adding transgender to the list of protected classes under hate crime laws, and opposing Ben Carson as Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, among others. We ended the night by cleaning up all of the glitter that had, of course, gotten all over the first floor of the WRAC. It was a lot of fun and we just might do it again next year!
